Vita is a private multidisciplinary practice in southwest Calgary. Our team is committed to excellent patient care that promotes treatment and prevention of cardiovascular illnesses and their related conditions. Cardiac Sonographer
Job Purpose:
Medical Sonographers operate ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of the heart to aid cardiologists in monitoring and diagnosing cardiac medical conditions.

Operate ultrasound imaging equipment that transmits high frequency sound pulses through the body to produce images of those parts of the body requiring examination
Monitor examination by viewing images on video screen, to evaluate quality and consistency of diagnostic images, and make adjustments to equipment, as required
Record, store and process scanned images by using camera unit connected to ultrasound equipment
Observe and care for patients throughout examinations to ensure patient safety and comfort
Prepare examination reports for physicians to aid in the monitoring of pregnancies and the diagnosis of cardiac, abdominal, ophthalmic, vascular and other disorders
Perform quality control checks on ultrasound equipment to ensure proper operation and perform minor repairs and adjustments as required
May supervise and train students and other medical sonographers.

Successful completion of a Canadian accredited ultrasound educational program. The recognized Canadian practice standards are described in the National Competency Profiles (NCP).
Registration with the Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP) and/or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

Cardiology Technologist
Job Purpose:

Perform electrocardiograms (ECG)
Apply and analyze Holter monitors

Recognize urgent test results and report to appropriate physician
Respond appropriately to emergency situations
Ascertain a verbal history from patients and recognize critical signs/symptoms
Gather relevant patient history and vital signs
Provide exceptional patient care

Completed cardiology technology course or equivalent from an accredited school
Registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologist

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Vita Diagnostics is seeking an Internal Medicine Specialist, with interest in cardiovascular diagnostics, for full-time clinical work. Applicants should be certified or eligible for certification in internal medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the province of Alberta.
The selected physician will join our group of specialists in providing care to patients of Vita, with the following concerns:
General Cardiac Consultations for the following concerns:
Cardiovascular risk stratification, undifferentiated cardiac symptoms, i.e. chest pain, palpitations, etc., hypertension evaluation
Chronic disease management of diabetes, and/or peripheral vascular disease
Supervision/Interpretation of Stress Testing (qualifications required)
Interpreting EKG’s & Holter Monitors (qualifications required)
